Through the years, I’ve worked with publishers such as Hachette Books (Christian nonfiction with some romantic fiction), Bloomsbury (self-help, business and management, health and well-being, memoirs, relationships, and more), HarperCollins Leadership (self-improvement and business), and Pan Macmillan (crime, suspense, and thriller fiction). I’ve proofread and copy-edited literally hundreds of books, with diverse styles and subject matters.
I think, in any collaboration, communication is key. Determining what the author is looking for up front and agreeing on what to focus on before work on the project begins are of paramount importance.
